Residential LID Field Tour Opportunity, August 30

The Illinois River Watershed Partnership invites you to join them for a free field tour to learn about the importance of low impact development (LID) at private residences, and ideas you can implement at your own home. The event is scheduled for August 30, 2018, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm in Fayetteville.

The morning will begin with a brief overview of different types of LID practices. This will be followed by a more in-depth talk on rain gardens by Katie Teague with the Washington County Cooperative Extension, and then a talk on how to DIY your own rain barrel.

These morning presentations will be followed by lunch (included) and a field tour of multiple local residences with LID practices installed. As a bonus, Casey Dunigan with the Washington County Conservation District will also discuss proper fertilizer and pesticide use. RSVP required.
